How to make a comment?

1. Use this Protected Document to open a comment box for your chosen Section, Part, Heading or clause.

2. Type your feedback into the comments box and then click "save comment" button located in the lower-right of the comment box.

3. Do not open more than one comment box at the same time.

4. When you have finished making comments proceed to the next stage by clicking on the "Continue to Step 2" button at the very bottom of this page.

Important Information

During the comment process you are connected to a database.  The session that connects you to the database may time-out due to inactivity. If you do not have JavaScript running you will receive a message to advise you of the length of time before the time-out. If you have JavaScript enabled, the time-out is lengthy and should not cause difficulty.

Section 3 - Scope

(5) This Policy applies to all ongoing and fixed-term staff members subject to relevant workplace agreements, relevant legislation and terms of employment.  It does not apply to casual/sessional staff except in limited cases specified in relevant workplace agreements.

(6) This Policy does not apply to non-employees such as honorary or adjunct appointments, volunteers, council and committee members, Independent contractors or consultants. The above is not an exhaustive list of non-employees.

Section 5 - Policy Statement

(8) The University provides staff with leave arrangements for a range of purposes to support their personal needs, wellbeing and the operational needs of the University.

(9) The University and staff comply with the leave provisions in the University’s workplace agreements and relevant legislation. 

(10) The University may periodically direct staff with excessive leave balances to take leave, subject to the provisions of its workplace agreements and relevant legislation.

(11) The University may direct staff to utilise paid leave entitlements prior to utilising any unpaid leave.

Accountabilities

(12) In accordance with this Policy:

  1. People managers are responsible for the review, planning and approval of leave requests for their direct reports.
  2. Staff are responsible for understanding and observing leave application and planning processes.
