This review is an update of the existing procedure with several changes. Reference to internal certification has been removed from the title, throughout the document and in supporting documents (as required) to enable this procedure to encompass requirements for internal and external certification of facilities. The roles of the IBC and Senior Manager, Research Infrastructure & Biosafety, in new build and facility refurbishment infrastructure projects have been further detailed and clarified. The requirement for internal certification of PC1 facilities, which was not clearly outlined in the previous version, has been removed, due to these facilities handling unregulated material.
