Summary of Changes from Previous Version

1/7/19 Title update – Biosafety Manager changed to Manager, Biosafety and Infrastructure.

The purpose of this Procedure is to protect the health and safety of people, animals and the environment, by identifying risks posed by, or as a result of, dealings with Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) at VU.

As a consequence of the approval of the VU Research Model, this Policy will be reviewed and may be changed to reflect the new approach to managing and supporting research and research training at Victoria University from 1 January 2018. This Policy review will be completed by December 2017. It is advisable to check with the Responsible Officer before using the current version of the Policy for 2018 matters.
